#1 Daelim VT 125 oil valve spring
Hello,
I am located in belgium and my german is not that good. Reading is not a big problem but writting is. So therefore I will post in english.
I am rebuilding a daelim vt 125 engine. But now when I am close to the finish I am missing a critical part.
In the oil filter cover there is located an oil over pressure valve. In this valve assembly there is a spring. And this spring part I am missing.
It is the part highligthed in blue in the drawing
I already looked around but I looks I can not order it.
Does someone has the golden tip for me.
1. A place where I can order it
2 The specifications of this spring: Wire thickness, Number off turns and uncrompressed length?
3 Or can this over pressure be blocked by filling the hole?
Hopefully someone can help me?

#2 Re: Daelim VT 125 oil valve spring
Hello and welcome in our Board.
Of course this little Feather is very important. With a little Valve cap it is a Bypass Valve when your Oilfilter is blocked.
I also had searched in many shops, but no one can deliver it.
If you still have this little Valve Cap,measure the inside, perhaps you can use the feather(spring) of a ballpoint pen,or you can buy a assortment box in the Bycicle Shop "Louis".
I dont know the Length of this Feather, but tomorrow when I find the Time,I will remove my Feather for measuring the Length.
I really think that it is not a good Idea to close or block this important Valve,I think that it is also important for your Oil Pressure.
Perhaps you can use a Feather from a Honda 125 Bike, because many Parts are identic to Daelim.
One Question,,,,in your Profile you write that you have a Daelim VS,and in your Thread you wrote that it is a Daelim VT.I have seen that you can buy this Oilfilter Cover complet in our German Shop @Dataparts.com for a Lot of Money,,,that cannot be true.
I hope that my English is good enough and you can understand what I mean.
Greetings,Volker

Perhaps you can find this little Feather in your old Oil.If you had opened the Screw with Oil in your Machine, this Valve Cap with Feather will flow with the old Oil in your Pot.If you change Oil with Filter,it is not necessary to open this Srew,ONLY THE COVER WITH 3 SCREWS AROUND.It is also important, when you rebuild the Filter,to look at the right Direction. At first the big Feather and after the Filter with the open side to the Cover!

Hello again
So I have removed the Feather(Spring) and on the Pictures you can see the Dimensions. But I am not able to measure the Strength of this Spring, but it is not hard to push down.

#5 Re: Daelim VT 125 oil valve spring
Hello Volker,
your English is perfect. Anyhow better then my written German. I am rebuilding a Daelim VT engine.
Thank you for your support and taking out the spring of your engine.
When i look to the pictures i got following dimensions.
wire diameter: 0.75mm
spring diameter: 6.75
spring length: 13.5mm
Just for my reference I first insert the valve spring in the oil cover and place then the valve cap with its open side over the spring? And the last step is closing it of with the screw.
Because this is not totally clear on the exploded drawing I have from the repair manual.
The valve cap I was able to order at daelimparts.com.
In fact I also ordered the spring which they confirmed to have in stock but it was not delivered.
In fact ordering with them is not recommended it took more than a month before they shipped the parts. And during that time i did not get any answers on my mails asking for feedback;
And when it was delivered the part what I really needed was missing.
The bike i bought came with a blocked engine and someone had already worked on it. Therefore this valve cap and spring where missing.
I already replaced the gear set of the 5th gear. fitted some new piston springs.
And did a replacment of the clutch damper blocks with some 3d printed new ones. Because they are not sold separatly.
At this moment I am closing up the engine block.
I just made the order on the shop you provided the picture off.
So I am now waiting for the delivery.
But thanks again for your help.

#6 Re: Daelim VT 125 oil valve spring
Hello
I'm going to use Google Translate now, it's easier.
Very important: The exploded view from Dataparts is wrong. When the thick spring, the oil filter and the cover are mounted, the valve cap and then the spring must go into the oil channel first. Then everything is sealed with the plug!!
If you didn't have these parts, you shouldn't be surprised that the engine was stuck. The oil pressure looks for the path of least resistance, and this leads through the oil channel that is no longer closed by a valve. As a result, the remaining oil pressure is probably no longer sufficient to supply the rest of the engine sufficiently, because the path through the oil filter is still free!!
This delicate component is so, so important, and it happens so quickly that if the oil is not changed properly, it will disappear forever unnoticed in the old oil.
I wish you every success.
Best wishes, Volker
